Very bad experience

Bryant - Very bad experience
Update by user Jun 30, 2020

The supplier has fixed the issue and I have paid 982 dollars.

Original review posted by user Jun 28, 2020
I am highly concerned with Bryant air conditioning I have. I have 3 Bryant air conditioning systems, and they are fairly new (2 and 1/2 years old). Recently one of the Bryant air conditioning systems went down and I ended up paying 982 dollars. This is extremely painful, and I am having no confidence on the systems I have. Though I have 5 years of warranty, I ended up paying a big amount. These systems are supposed to be stable but looks like there is nexus between manufacture and dealer/distributor to make customers pay the money for faulty devices. When I asked the dealer/ distributor Reliant about the issue, they told me its manufacturing defect but not covered by warranty. This is not acceptable and I want this to be addressed asap otherwise I am going to raise my concerns in consumer forums.

Variable speed

Not happy with the way ours is working. Its high speed for a few seconds and slows way down and speed up again. Hearing it is driving us nuts. It like hitting you gas pedal to get up to 40 and letting off slowing down to 20 and hitting gas again to gas back to 40 on and on and on. Is this normal? Going to call company tomorrow. Our installer kind of showed some concern when he was testing system.

Blower Mitor

Harness wiring I ordered with blower motor never came with it. Paid for it reached back out and only sent one instead of the two required. Very frustrated at this point.

User's recommendation: Proceed with caution.

Furnace not working, again!

Had a new Bryant furnace installed last year (2019) an both last year and this year it has failed to function. Installer (Clark Systems of Troy, MI) came out last year and fiddled with it and got it working again. This morning it failed again. Can't get in touch with Clark (out of business?). We are cold and very unhappy with the reliability of the furnace.

User's recommendation: Don't buy Bryant furnaces.

Poor service from dealer

Spent $9000 on Bryant heating and air conditioning unit and now I can't get the dealer to service it. Spoke with Bryant corporate office and was informed that they only sell the units to the dealers. Was also told that they don't care how the dealer treats the customer because they aren't Bryant employee's. Last Bryant product I buy.

User's recommendation: Stay away.

Awful customer service

5 yr old unit not pushing air. No parts available and awful customer service. They're telling me that since I bought it from an online store the warranty is void. Such BS. My furnace is down and they want to charge me half as much for the part as I paid for the furnace. Remember its only 5 yrs old.

User's recommendation: Avoid. Find a different product. BTW - this is Carrier as well.

Air conditioner broke; no support from bryant

Air conditioner broke; no support from bryant
I purchased a air conditioner 2 years ago; and the compressor broke. i had only used it for about 10 days. The manufacture warrantied the compressor but not the labor. i had to spend an additional $950.00 to fix my compressor. i sent a letter to bryant asking them to cover the labor cost for the substandard parts being used on there products; they refused.

User's recommendation: i wouldn't buy a bryant product again.

Non existent customer service

Bryant has a customer service phone number for the singular purpose of saying that they have one. The extent of customer service is to direct you to a dealer. They refuse all direct customer requests. They know that reviews like this are difficult to find and generally will not affect their business. There protect the "brand" by keeping only their resellers/distributors happy. I have had the same repetitive $350 warranty repair on my two and half year old "top of the line" Bryant five separate times and Bryant refuses to provide any assistance or direction despite knowing this will continuously occur every six to twelve months. I am left with the only option of replacing the system at my expense, approximately $10,000.

User's recommendation: If you have any expectation of customer service from the manufacturer who provides the warranty, you should avoid Bryant at all costs. If you have warranty issues, you will be completely at the whim of the installer which Bryant will never stand behind. I have come across bad customer service over the years, but this is the first time I can say I have come across zero customer service.

Air conditioner is 2 1/2 years old and used maybe a months worth of time. Broke down and they want $1500-$3000 to fix it. Parts covered and no labor. Pure junk!!!!

Only a few dealers on Portland too.

User's recommendation: Don’t buy. Get one with labor.

Newer air conditioner outside ices.

We have only had this air conditioner 3 years. The air runs well at first. It keeps our house cool. Then eventually starts running loudly. The house does not stay cool. And they outside lines freeze over. We have kept up with all maintenance. The company that we bought from cant find the problem. We even had the ducts cleaned. They say we have another 5 years before we might have to replace the furnace. So, its not that. There is no problems with leaking Freon. So, any suggestions as to what the culprit is ?

Filter door noise

Hello, I asked my installer to contact the service rep, as suggested by you, and he said there is no reason to get the service rep involved as there is nothing that can be done. My problem is that when my fan-only runs at LOW speed there is an annoying hum that comes from the motor. When I remove the filter door the hum stops. When the fan is as MEDIUM speed there is no hum. The installer says that the hum is due to poor duct work construction of my town home. So I'm confused, the same duct work at a higher, medium, speed does not hum, but a low speed DOES hum. buy a furnace that does I said I will pay for more ducts, but he said not to contact him for a month as he is very busy. I have a 100% guarantee agreement, and I will ask for the furnace to be removed if this can't be fixed.

User's recommendation: buy a furnace that does not make annoying noises.

Customer Servce and quality

Failed part on brand new system. Customer Service not wanting to warranty system because the first failure was covered.

User's recommendation: Find a trusted installer if you go with this company. Bryant will not help you with any issues with thier systems.

10 year warranty per the contract.

Highly recommend.

When my 14 year old Bryant 2 stage furnace failed with a blocked secondary heat exchanger I contacted Bryant customer service to report my problem since the heat exchanger had a lifetime warranty. They had me contact a local dealer and was provided a brand new equivalent featured model at no cost other than installation. I am very pleased with both the quiet operation as well has the high efficiency of my 926T 96.5 efficiency furnace. Bryant has earned my respect and made me a lifelong customer.
